How this estimate works

HDFC states the card earns 5% Fuel Points at IndianOil outlets, with up to 250 points per month in the first six months from issuance and 150 per month thereafter. The issuer value chart equates one Fuel Point to ₹0.96 of fuel via three XTRAREWARDS points at participating IndianOil outlets. The IndianOil chip assumes one eligible in-store, non-UPI pump transaction of the entered amount monthly and averages the two first-year cap periods; a generic fuel purchase or online channel gets zero. Eligible grocery purchases also earn 5% with a separate 100-point monthly cap; other eligible retail earns one Fuel Point per ₹150. Utilities and bill payments have their own qualifying route and 100-point cap, so the generic utilities chip does not assume it. This is fuel redemption value, not statement cash; statement credit is only ₹0.20 per point and is not modeled. The card requires XTRAREWARDS membership and participating outlets. Points last two years. The ranking deducts ₹500 joining fee plus estimated GST in the first year, not an additional first-year renewal; the later ₹50,000 spending-based renewal waiver and surcharge waiver are not assumed.
