How this estimate works

Existing holders only: new applications are unavailable. HDFC’s dated 15 May 2026 notice revises the earn increment to 3 points for each complete ₹200 eligible purchase, superseding stale 3/₹150 text still on the product page. The September 2026 MITC confirms ₹0.10 per point for statement cashback and a ₹500 cashback minimum, 25,000 points per statement cycle, a 2,000-point monthly grocery cap, 2,000-point utility cap, 50,000-point monthly redemption cap, and no rewards on fuel, wallet, EMI, rent, government and third-party education payments. This model uses cashback rather than the conditional ₹0.30 SmartBuy flight/hotel value; redemptions are assumed only when at least 5,000 points accrue annually, at no more than 50,000 points per calendar month per redemption, with ₹50 + estimated GST deducted for each needed redemption using the issuer redemption form. The first-year and annual renewal fee are each ₹1,000 + GST; the recurring fee is deducted without assuming a waiver after ₹1 lakh prior-year spend. Welcome/renewal points, annual milestones, surcharge relief and travel redemption value are omitted. One eligible monthly transaction assumed.
