HDFC Bank UPI RuPay is a virtual additional floater card issued only alongside an existing HDFC primary credit card, not a standalone new card. It earns 3% CashPoints for supermarket/grocery MCC 5411 and dining MCC 5812/5814, 2% for utility MCC 4900, and 1% on other eligible purchases. The issuer caps each feature at 500 points per calendar month and requires a transaction of at least ₹100. CashPoints redeem against statement at ₹0.25 per point with a 500-point minimum; this model waits until a year of one eligible transaction per month reaches that minimum, so a lower annual balance shows zero this year rather than lost value. Points expire after two years. It deducts ₹99 plus estimated GST for the first year; the ₹25,000 preceding-year renewal waiver is not assumed. Fuel, rent, government, wallet loads, EMI, cash, card fees and other special routes are excluded or not modeled. The 3%/2% rates require the actual merchant code; the broad category chip alone is not proof of posting.
