How this estimate works

Fuel surcharge relief only, not a cashback or reward-points estimate. The named HSBC RuPay Platinum page states nil joining and annual fees. HSBC explicitly includes RuPay Platinum in its 1% fuel surcharge waiver: eligible purchase amount ₹400–₹4,000 per transaction, excluding surcharge, with a ₹250 monthly waiver cap. The debited surcharge is refunded the following month. The calculator scores only an offline fuel-pump purchase and assumes one eligible transaction of the entered amount per month, repeated for twelve months. It returns 1% of eligible purchase amount, subject to the published cap; it is relief against an actual fuel surcharge, not cash earned on the fuel itself. No fuel reward points are awarded. Actual surcharge and taxes may differ; no tax refund is assumed. Ordinary reward points, UPI points, welcome offers and partner discounts are not priced. HSBC reward terms say marketplace point values are dynamic, so no rupee conversion is invented. The linked contactless ₹250 quarterly cashback offer covers Visa Platinum and Live+, not RuPay Platinum, and is not copied. A fuel-only floor does not represent the full value of this card. Verify the actual pump transaction and surcharge posting.

The transaction range matters

One eligible ₹1,000 pump purchase per month gives ₹10 monthly surcharge relief, or ₹120 over twelve months. ₹399 and ₹4,001 purchases are outside the published waiver range. With one transaction per month, the highest eligible ₹4,000 purchase gives ₹40 monthly relief; the ₹250 published cap is not an invented ₹250 monthly reward. No Visa/Live+ contactless cashback is included.
