How this estimate works

RBL Platinum ShopGain advertises one point per full ₹100 on eligible ordinary purchases. The issuer benefit table values 1,200 points at up to ₹276, equivalent to an illustrative ₹0.23/point. This is not cash or a guaranteed catalogue rate. The product page also advertises 25 points/full ₹100 utilities with a 500-point monthly cap, but the same page says utilities ceased earning points in November 2023 and supplies a further October 2024 MCC exclusion update; the model follows the later exclusion and scores utilities at zero. It assumes one eligible purchase per month, requires 500 annual points for the RBL Rewards FAQ voucher minimum, subtracts a single annual ₹99+estimated GST redemption charge if worthwhile, and deducts the ₹1,499+estimated GST recurring annual card fee in ROI. Other exclusions include education, insurance, rent, wallet loads, fuel/auto, quasi-cash, rail, real estate, service providers, government/contracted services, Bills2Pay, EMI, miscellaneous and cash. Generic named merchant/payment routes without MCC proof score zero. The welcome/milestone points, fee waiver, discontinued lounge benefit and separate BookMyShow offer are omitted. Voucher inventory, merchant MCC and actual point conversion may differ.
