How this estimate works

Google Pay lists a base of one Star for every ₹500 cumulative eligible Flex spending in the card reward cycle. This estimate treats one entered monthly eligible purchase as that cycle’s only spend and counts completed ₹500 units, capped at 1,500 Stars a cycle. It deliberately omits the previous-cycle 2X booster, ₹15,000 cycle boost, expired September 15, 2026 8X promotion, and welcome Stars; no bonus is applied from merely selecting a broad spend category. A Star can reduce the price of eligible Google Pay vouchers by ₹1; on RuPay Flex it can also trigger ₹1 statement cashback when used on an eligible Google Pay card payment. Visa cannot use that payment-cashback route, so the calculator treats every network as voucher-only restricted value, not universal cashback. Stars expire after one year. Insurance, rent, wallet loading, education, government, jewellery and EMI-converted purchases do not earn. Fuel earns under Google’s program, but the general fuel chip is left unscored by the calculator’s existing fuel exclusion gate, so this model understates it. UPI, utilities and special merchant/portal chips are also unscored because network and merchant-level conditions cannot be established from a generic chip. SBI and Google list ₹499+taxes joining/renewal fee with renewal waived on previous-year ₹1 lakh eligible annual spend; the calculator deducts ₹499+estimated GST and does not assume the waiver.
