How this estimate works

IRCTC SBI Platinum Card earns 1 reward point per ₹125 on eligible non-fuel retail purchases. The points transfer to a linked IRCTC loyalty account and are worth ₹1 each only toward eligible AC rail ticket fare, not statement cash. Redemption requires enough points for the whole qualifying ticket fare. Cancelling a redeemed ticket can forfeit half its points above normal railway cancellation charges; unused points expire after two years and lapse if membership renewal is missed. Some qualifying AC train bookings can earn up to 10% value back in points, with a 1% transaction-charge waiver, but class, travel date, channel, loyalty and fare conditions matter, so generic rail/travel chips are unscored. The issuer FAQ says mobile-app bookings were ineligible for travel points, while a current IRCTC description lists its mobile app; this conflict is another reason no train accelerator is inferred. Fuel is excluded; utilities, rent, wallet, government and named-special routes are not established by the ordinary chip. ₹500+estimated GST annual card fee is deducted; activation bonus of 350 points, gateway-charge waiver and lounge benefits are omitted. Check live IRCTC conditions before relying on train-booking benefits.
